Bott’s Dots Have Made Driving Safer throughout the World

Elbert Botts developed dots and the epoxies to attach them to roads to serve as visual markers on road pavements. He did this while working with the California Dept of Transportation. He died before this was actually implemented and the world had to wait for a while before his research was unearthed and put to use. Botts' Dots and reflective paint for highways serve as visual guidance to drivers and the color codes for them have different meanings.
